This Summer, we were happy to be invited to set up our fundraising stall at the Morden Family Funday.
Happy to be back, meeting and greeting again, selling our Africana artefacts and more especially, the paintings and drawings of the children we support, artful paintings like Latifa’s above. The folks who stop by to chat always tell us what a good cause we support. The children’s artwork always attracts the attention of both parents and the children who share the same age as those who have done the paintings in Tanzania.
At ABCDreams UK we worked hard this year to finish the toilet infrastructure project (see last post) and to continue its support for Binti Msafi with sanitary pads for all the girls at the village secondary school.
With the presence of the local District Education Officer, with dignitaries from the village as well as the local school board attending, it was truly a grand opening.
Our fundraising work continues this year with picture sales during the lead-up to Christmas, as well as at upcoming community events and local art groups.
