Toilet Blocks
Yesterday, April 9th 2025, Lysikika Secondary School in Northern Tanzania saw the grand opening of its new toilet blocks. In the presence of local and district dignitaries, ABCDreams UK sponsored the commissioning of the girls’ and boys’ toilet blocks.

The hand-wash stand and the girls’ block were finished earlier. As of this new year, only the boys’ unit was left to finish (pictured here).
The opening, ceremony, officiated by the District Education Officer for Hai District, Northern Tanzania and witnessed by local ward counsellors and village officials, congratulated ABCDreams (UK) for its contributions over the years. John de Ronde, in response, thanked the school headteacher, Erlingia Msella without whom this work could not have proceeded. The whole school turned out for the event.
ABCDreams (UK) wishes to thank the Rotary Clubs of Morden and Callington in the UK and the Rotary Club of Moshi in Tanzania for their support. This has been a very successful, collaborative project.

Binti Msafi
Our toilet opening ceremony coincided conveniently with a visit by Binti Msafi Foundation. Their CEO, Irene Lema prepared a new supply of sanitary pads for the girls.
When we designed the girls’ block we added a changing room with wash facilities and access to an incinerator for used pads. Binti Msafi rounded the day perfectly!
